Humble Yourself Before The Lord

My comprehension of the word "humility" at the time was simply cursory, or that information from a human point of view, because I did not have a relationship with God. Suppose someone tells you that you are lovely. Then you will claim that you are not attractive, yet deep down, you are. The person will then respond, "WOW, HUMBLE!" Another example is when someone claims, "They are poor," when in fact they are wealthy. The things you are negating about yourself that you do not possess in order to portray yourself as humble, etc. However, as my connection with God deepened and grew, He revealed to me what God's humility is. Then I understood that it depends on the person's heart. Because of this, the individual needs to transform their heart and spirit. But only God, through Jesus Christ, can change it.

We must be thankful for what God created because He made each of us uniquely; thus, if someone tells you that you are beautiful, you should respond by denying that "I'm not." God's creation is amazing; therefore, we should be grateful to Him.

PSALM  139:14 (NLT)
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

Then, rather than demeaning yourself by saying that you are really impoverished, say "BLESSING." You will rely on the Bible to prove that you are blessed by God, since He has promised it and because He is the one who provides for us. The word we speak is also extremely potent. Instead of cursing yourself, talk about blessings and life, not just in terms of material blessings but in all aspects of our lives. But we must also connect our hearts with those of God. Let's put the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously so that we can understand His will, because God only hears the prayers of the righteous, especially what we ask of Him that is in line with His will.

JOHN 9:31 (NLT)
We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.

1 PETER 3:12 (NLT)
The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”

PROVERBS 15:29 (NLT)
The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous.

What does the word "humble" mean in the wisdom of God? By doing so, you demonstrate your reverence for God's sovereignty. You are ready to acknowledge or accept that you are mistaken. Your heart is prepared to receive His word with openness. You can be sure that He is aware of your thoughts, feelings, intentions, deeds, and desires because you trust that He is the ALL-MAJESTIC GOD. As a result, you are willing to be altered or rectified by God to conform to his ways and thoughts in order to comply with his will.

Like Jesus, who, although being God, did not regard His equality with God as anything to cling to. In place of that, He surrendered His heavenly rights, accepted the lowly status of a slave, and had a human birth. He submitted to God by becoming a human being and taking on human form.

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11 (NLT)
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

So we must be like Jesus Christ in that we cannot be equal to God because we are just His creation, a human being. We must submit to God in humility and follow His commands. He is our master, after all. It implies that He is the highest and that humans are the lowest, and that because we are merely His servants or slaves, we are willing to obey His commands. There is no slave or servant that is equal to or superior to the master, because doing so would disqualify us.

JOHN 13:16 (NLT)
I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message.

I was one of those who previously rebelled against the LORD because I had my own beliefs that I thought were correct or because I didn't want anyone to dispute my beliefs. However, it wasn't until I first encountered God and until my relationship with Him deepened that I realised how I had disobeyed Him. Even though I had previously accepted the identity of Jesus Christ, my views did not correspond to those found in the Bible (false conversion).

We can only see or grasp the Kingdom of God if a person is born again or the Spirit is reborn, because the Holy Spirit himself will instruct and lead us. Since he is God, we can understand without a doubt. Since human wisdom is limited, we can only have a limited comprehension of God's glory if we rely solely on our own understanding or human wisdom. However, if you give the Holy Spirit permission to teach and guide us, we will learn or perceive because He is all-knowing, including the past, present, and future.

Because of this, I can understand people who take great pride in saying that they know and have a God, even when it is obvious or observable that people live without a God. The person will then assert that they ought to adhere to their ancestors' faith, but that their faith was erroneous or the result of a false conversion. I truly feel sorry for folks because I used to be one of them, but because of God's incredible love and grace, I was saved. Hallelujah!

I thus hope and pray that others without a personal relationship with God will also have the opportunity to experience his goodness and, more importantly, salvation. But only God is able to reach a person's heart and activate their spiritual eyes and ears.

ROMANS 9:15-18 (NLT)
15 For God said to Moses,
“I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”
16 So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
17 For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.” 18 So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.

Many people that I have come across have insisted that it is not true, that they do not listen, or that they are really arrogant. Instead, let's humble ourselves before God, because if we do that, that's how we'll win his heart. The meaning of humility vs. pride is the same in this verse.

LUKE 18:9-12 (NLT)
9 Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else: 10 “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! 12 I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’

LUKE 18:13-14 (NLT)
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ 14 I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

According to that scripture, a Pharisee and a despised tax collector both went to the temple to pray. The Pharisee, meanwhile, is extremely arrogant. He refused to admit his mistake or recognise his need for God's grace and forgiveness as a sinner. However, that despised tax collector is the one who is justified in God's eyes because he humbled himself and admitted that his depravity made him deserving of God's mercy.

The same as us, it doesn't matter how frequently you fast, even if you contribute 10% of your income, or how devout you are, such as going to church every Sunday, etc. We should be humble before God since our hearts are what He looks at. All of our transgressions, especially those that we are unaware of, should be asked for God's mercy and forgiveness.

Let's confess our sins, admitting that we need Jesus Christ as our Savior and pleading with God for mercy to change our hearts so that they more closely resemble His. We are likewise ready to turn in the direction of God's righteous path in order to live in His holiness and righteousness, which give us eternal life. Therefore, what we previously thought should be rejected or let go of because we should obey God's word or commandment. This will touch God's heart, and He will be pleased if people are humble before Him. If we do this, we will win God's heart.

2 CHRONICLES 7:14 (NLT)
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Additionally, we should have the heart of a child, that we are completely dependent on God and that we cannot live without Him because He knows what is best for us. We are also willing to listen to God's correction, follow it, and accept it.

LUKE 10:21 (NLT)
At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.

In my experience, God revealed His deep secrets or mysteries to me since I was humble before Him. It's very incredible. But in addition to asking God to humble us, we also need to transform our hearts and spirits because they are all interconnected, particularly with regard to our connection with God. The important thing is that Jesus Christ has it, since He is the only way for anybody to approach the Father. He is the way, the truth, and the life.

PROVERBS 11:2 (NLT)
Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

JAMES 4:6 (NLT)
And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

PSALM 25:9 (NLT)
He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.

1 PETER 5:6 (NLT)
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
