Sometimes, we go through seasons where we feel lonely, unloved, forgotten, and emotionally exhausted. There was a time in my life when I silently carried those feelings in my heart. I thought no one truly loved me, and I struggled with deep loneliness and depression. But during that painful season, God opened my spiritual eyes and revealed something that completely changed my understanding of His love.
There was a time when I became depressed. I even said in my heart, “No one loves me.” I felt such deep loneliness during that time. Then suddenly, God comforted me. He spoke to me and said, “Daughter, listen. I sent Abby into your life (my husband) so you could see My love and care for you. During the time when you were sick, Abby was there to support you and provide for you. During the time when you were down, Abby listened to you and comforted you. He never left you, even when you were sick. In your times of need, Abby was there to provide for you.”
What God meant was that He used Abby as someone who would love me, support me, comfort me, provide for me, and care for me. But it was God Himself working through him so that I could see that God had always loved me.
Then He also said, “Remember when you were sick? You recovered because of My grace, which is why you were able to travel to India. And when you arrived in India, the people there took good care of you and loved you. They provided for all your needs.”
After God spoke these things to me, I broke down in tears. That was when I realized the ways God had been moving in my life and how He opened my spiritual eyes so I could see and understand His love for me. That was when I understood that God’s love is shown in many different ways. Sometimes, He uses people so we can experience His love, care, support, provision, and comfort. That was when I realized that God never left me or abandoned me through both my ups and downs. That is why I cried so much and asked God for forgiveness because He had actually been loving me all along.
I am sharing this story because while I was sitting down, God spoke to me through this testimony and told me to share His love. God spoke to my heart and said that there is someone reading this post right now who is feeling depression and loneliness. I do not know who you are, but God knows His people and the burdens that each person is carrying. God is speaking to you through this testimony to comfort you and help you see that He is always with you and has never abandoned you.
God used someone during the time when you felt like you had nothing and during the time when you were down. God gave you opportunities so you could be accepted at your job and provide for your needs. Even through troubles and calamities, He protected you. Look at all the goodness of God in your life. He loves you so, so much. He will never abandon you, and He will never leave you.
PSALM 34:18 (NLT)
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
PSALM 27:10 (NLT)
“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close.”
JOHN 14:18 (NLT)
“No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.”
DEUTERONOMY 31:6 (NLT)
“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
This testimony taught me that God’s love is not always shown in the way we expect. Sometimes, He reveals His love through people, provision, healing, protection, comfort, and support. Looking back, I realized that God never truly left me—not in my pain, not in my struggles, and not in my loneliness. He was always there, quietly taking care of me even when I could not recognize it.
God opened my spiritual eyes to see His goodness and faithfulness more clearly. Through this experience, I also realized that many people silently carry pain, depression, and loneliness in their hearts. If you are one of those people, I want you to know that God sees you, understands your burdens, and has not abandoned you. He may already be showing His love to you in ways you have not noticed yet.
Sometimes, the very people, opportunities, and protection around us are already evidence of God’s presence and love in our lives.
