Introduction
While writing this testimony, God suddenly reminded me of a season in my life when I struggled deeply and cried out to Him for help. As He began to reveal what had really happened, I found myself overwhelmed with emotion and unable to stop crying.
He showed me how the enemy had deceived me, how faithful He had been to His promises, and how much He had loved me all along. Through this revelation, God opened my eyes to truths I had never fully understood before, and my heart was filled with gratitude, worship, and awe of His goodness.
Part 1: When God Revealed the Truth
Understanding the Enemy's Deception
As I was writing this testimony, God suddenly began speaking to me about a season when I had struggled with sin. He explained to me why those things had happened, and as He revealed the truth, I wept deeply.
I was overwhelmed because I realized how innocent I had been and how greatly I had been deceived by the enemy. Through God's revelation, I came to understand more clearly that Satan truly is God's enemy and, therefore, my enemy as well.
This passage came to mind:
PSALM 139:21–22 (NLT)
21 O Lord, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you? Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you?
22 Yes, I hate them with total hatred, for your enemies are my enemies.
It was through this experience that I began to understand spiritual warfare in a much deeper way.
Learning About the Reality of the Holy Spirit
As God shared these things with me, it was as though He was giving me understanding beyond what I could see with my physical eyes.
Through this experience, I also began to understand what it truly means to live in the Spirit. Before this, especially when I was younger, I struggled to understand spiritual things.
The Holy Spirit is very real. Although I cannot see Him with my physical eyes the way I see other people, His presence is undeniable. He does not have a physical body like a human being, yet He is alive, active, and real.
His presence can be felt in ways that go far beyond physical sensations. His voice is not like a natural human voice, and He speaks in many different ways. These things can be difficult to explain fully, which is why every believer needs the Holy Spirit. Without Him, we cannot truly understand spiritual realities because He is God.
When the Enemy Attacked God's Promise
Before I entered that season of struggle, God had already given me a promise.
Later, Satan attacked the very promise that God had spoken over my life. What I learned is that God's promises often have a perfect timing before they are fulfilled. The enemy knows this, and he often attacks the promises God gives to His people.
If we are not grounded in God's Word, we can easily be deceived because the enemy is extremely cunning. He knows how to trap people, how to tempt them, and how to target their weaknesses.
In my case, the enemy searched for a weakness and used it to draw me away from God. He gradually began influencing my thoughts. He convinced me that the promise God had given me would never come to pass.
Even though I knew those thoughts were against God's will, I was slowly drawn into believing them.
The Spiritual Blindness I Could Not See
As God revealed these things to me, I finally understood something that I had never fully grasped before.
At the time, I was completely unaware of what was happening in the spiritual realm. I did not realize that my mind was already being influenced by the enemy. I assumed these thoughts were simply normal human thoughts.
This helped me understand what the Bible means when it says that Satan blinds people's minds.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:4 (NLT)
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
Without God's revelation, we often fail to see what is really happening. But when God opens our eyes, we begin to understand truths that were hidden from us.
Trapped in a Struggle I Hated
God showed me exactly how the enemy had deceived me.
Because I listened to those lies and accepted them, I eventually acted upon them. This was the beginning of what I call my "struggle with sin."
I call it a struggle because it was a sin that I genuinely hated, yet I found myself trapped in it.
In the spiritual sense, it felt as though I was imprisoned, bound, and unable to break free. I wanted to stop. I feared God and did not want to continue in that sin, yet I felt trapped and powerless to escape it.
During that season, I continually cried out to God for help. I prayed and wept before Him, asking Him to rescue me from the trap I had fallen into.
As time passed, I felt that my relationship with God was slowly fading. Although God never left me, my sin affected my fellowship with Him and made me feel distant from His presence.
The deeper I fell into that struggle, the more desperate I became for God's help.
ROMANS 7:15–19 (NLT)
15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.
Part 2: How God Rescued Me From the Trap
The Distance Sin Creates
During that season, I felt as though my relationship with God was slowly fading. Yet looking back, I now understand that God had never left me. He was always there.
It is often our sin that makes us feel distant from God. Because God is holy, sin creates a barrier in our fellowship with Him. This is why we desperately need a Savior. Through Jesus Christ, we are cleansed and restored to a right relationship with God.
The following passages helped me understand this truth more clearly:
ISAIAH 59:2 (NLT)
It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.
REVELATION 1:5 (NLT)
and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
1 JOHN 1:9 (NLT)
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
EPHESIANS 1:7 (NLT)
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
These verses reminded me that God’s desire is not to abandon us but to forgive us, cleanse us, and bring us back into fellowship with Him.
Seeing My Situation Through Daniel’s Story
As God continued revealing these truths to me, He showed me something that reminded me of Daniel’s experience.
In a spiritual sense, it felt as though I had been captured by the enemy in an attempt to pull me away from God. This reminded me of Daniel because he was a faithful servant of God, yet his enemies searched for a way to accuse him.
DANIEL 6:2–5 (NLT)
2 The king also chose Daniel and two others as administrators to supervise the high officers and protect the king’s interests. 3 Daniel soon proved himself more capable than all the other administrators and high officers. Because of Daniel’s great ability, the king made plans to place him over the entire empire.
4 Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. 5 So they concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”
Just as Daniel’s enemies looked for a weakness they could use against him, the enemy searched for an area in my life where he could attack me.
This helped me understand that spiritual warfare is real. The enemy desires to destroy, deceive, and separate people from God.
God’s Sovereignty Even in the Trial
One of the most important things God taught me through this experience was that nothing happens outside of His knowledge and authority.
The enemy cannot do anything unless God allows it. God never permits a trial that is beyond our ability to endure through His grace.
Looking back, I believe God allowed this season as part of my spiritual growth and training. What the enemy intended for harm, God used for good and for His glory.
Through this experience, God taught me more about His Kingdom. He allowed me to see the reality of spiritual warfare, the schemes of the enemy, and most importantly, His own power, faithfulness, and sovereignty.
God showed me that He truly is alive, that His promises are trustworthy, and that His Word never fails.
God’s Compassion Brought Me to Tears
One of the moments that moved me most deeply was when God showed me that I had been deceived.
He revealed that I had been targeted and trapped by the enemy. As He shared these things with me, I was overcome with emotion and wept deeply.
I remembered the prayers I had prayed during that difficult season.
I had cried out to God, saying:
“Lord, I have tried to serve You faithfully, yet Your enemy—who is also my enemy—has defiled my life.”
I also remember praying:
“Lord, I trust You to rescue me from this situation.”
As God reminded me of those moments, I saw once again how faithful He had been to His promises.
The Day God Set Me Free
God did exactly what He promised He would do.
He rescued me.
The struggle that had once held me captive was suddenly broken. Even now, I am amazed when I think about it.
From a human perspective, the situation seemed impossible. Some strongholds can feel so deeply rooted that freedom appears unreachable. Yet with God, nothing is impossible.
When God decides to act, no chain is too strong, no prison is too secure, and no situation is beyond His power.
This experience taught me that God’s promises can be trusted completely. What He speaks, He fulfills.
I was deeply moved because I realized that God truly sees the heart. He knows every struggle, every prayer, every tear, and every cry for help.
He knew exactly how to rescue His servant.
A Faithfulness That Reminded Me of Daniel
As I reflected on God’s deliverance, I found myself relating once again to Daniel’s story.
Daniel remained faithful to God despite the attacks against him, and God rescued him from the lions’ den.
DANIEL 6:19–23 (NLT)
19 Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions’ den. 20 When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?”
21 Daniel answered, “Long live the king! 22 My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”
23 The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.
When I read this passage, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness.
Just as God protected Daniel, He also rescued me in His perfect timing.
My circumstances were different, but the lesson was the same: God remains faithful to those who place their trust in Him.
His power is greater than any trap of the enemy, and His faithfulness never fails.
Part 3: Discovering the True Nature of God’s Love
God Showed Me His Heart
One of the most powerful moments in this experience was when God showed me how He truly saw me.
As He revealed what had happened, He showed me that I had been deceived and trapped by the enemy. When He shared this with me, I was overwhelmed with emotion and wept deeply.
What moved me even more was realizing that God saw my heart.
He knew that I had not desired to rebel against Him. He knew the pain, confusion, and struggle I had experienced. He knew that I had cried out to Him for help and trusted Him to rescue me.
As God revealed these things, I came to understand His character in a way I never had before.
Understanding God’s Mercy and Grace
Through this experience, I discovered something beautiful about the nature of God.
God does not delight in condemning people. Instead, He is full of mercy, compassion, and grace.
As He spoke to me, I realized how greatly the enemy has distorted people’s understanding of God. Satan wants people to believe that God is cruel, distant, and eager to punish. He twists the truth and paints a false picture of God’s character.
But what God revealed to me was completely different.
He showed me His love.
He showed me His patience.
He showed me His mercy.
Rather than pushing people away, God calls them to come near to Him so that He can heal their hearts, restore them, and open their eyes to the truth.
This passage beautifully reflects God’s invitation:
2 CHRONICLES 7:14 (NLT)
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
God desires humble and repentant hearts. When we turn to Him, He is faithful to forgive, restore, and heal.
When God Opened My Spiritual Eyes
As God continued speaking to me, it felt as though my spiritual eyes were being opened.
I suddenly realized that spiritual blindness is much deeper than I had ever understood before.
It was as though layers had been covering my eyes, preventing me from seeing spiritual truths clearly. These layers had distorted my understanding and limited what I could perceive.
Even when God is near us, we cannot fully understand spiritual realities unless He opens our eyes.
This helped me understand why so many truths in Scripture can only be fully understood through the guidance and revelation of the Holy Spirit.
Without Him, many spiritual realities remain hidden from our understanding.
The Enemy’s Strategy Has Never Changed
As God revealed more to me, I began to understand what happened in the Garden of Eden from a deeper perspective.
When Satan tempted Adam and Eve, he did not begin by attacking them directly. Instead, he attacked the Word of God.
He twisted what God had said.
He distorted the truth.
He planted doubt.
The same strategy is still being used today.
The enemy seeks to undermine God’s Word, distort the truth, and lead people into deception. Once people begin believing those lies, they can become trapped and struggle to break free.
Then, after deceiving them, the enemy often fills them with shame, guilt, fear, and condemnation.
This is one of his greatest tactics.
He deceives people, traps them, and then convinces them that they are beyond God’s mercy.
But through this experience, God showed me something different.
He showed me that He is willing to rescue, restore, and heal those who turn to Him.
Seeing Spiritual Reality More Clearly
As God continued revealing these truths, many things I had previously struggled to understand began to make sense.
I could now see how the enemy works to blind people’s minds and distort their understanding of God.
I also began to understand more clearly why spiritual revelation is so important.
Without God’s help, we can easily misunderstand both His character and His purposes.
But when God opens our eyes, we begin to see Him as He truly is.
We begin to recognize His goodness, His faithfulness, His love, and His mercy.
And the more clearly we see Him, the more our hearts are drawn toward worship, gratitude, and trust.
This experience was not only about being rescued from a struggle.
It was also about discovering who God truly is.
The more He revealed Himself to me, the more I fell in love with Him.
Part 4: The Love I Had Been Searching For All My Life
A Question That Led to Greater Understanding
As my relationship with God continued to grow, He began teaching me many things that I had never fully understood before.
For a long time, I had heard people say that one day we would stand before God and give an account of our lives. I had also read this truth in Scripture.
ECCLESIASTES 12:14 (NLT)
God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:10 (NLT)
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
At one point, a question came to my mind:
“How will we answer for everything we have done if we cannot even remember many of the things that happened throughout our lives?”
As my relationship with God deepened, I gradually began to understand.
I realized that when we stand before God, nothing will be hidden from His sight. God knows every detail of our lives, and He is able to bring things back to our remembrance.
This understanding came through my own experiences with Him. There were moments when God reminded me of things I had long forgotten, and suddenly those memories became clear again.
God Showed Me What My Heart Had Been Searching For
One day, God revealed something about my life that touched me deeply.
He showed me that from the time I was a child, I had been searching for love.
Throughout my life, I longed to experience love, acceptance, and belonging. As I grew older, I unknowingly looked for that love in other people.
But God showed me something I had never fully understood before.
The love we receive from people, while meaningful and valuable, is never complete or perfect. Human love has limitations because people themselves need God’s love.
The perfect love that every heart longs for can only be found in God.
He is the source of all love.
He is the One who created us, knows us completely, and loves us unconditionally.
God showed me that many of the disappointments and wounds people experience come from expecting other people to provide what only God can truly give.
Human love can bless us, encourage us, and strengthen us, but only God’s love can completely satisfy the deepest needs of the human heart.
Looking Back Through the Eyes of God
As God revealed these truths to me, He began bringing back memories from different seasons of my life.
It was as though He was allowing me to look back over my entire journey from a new perspective.
One memory after another came flooding back.
Moments from childhood.
Moments from my teenage years.
Moments from adulthood.
As these memories returned, I became overwhelmed with emotion and wept deeply.
For the first time, I began seeing those moments through God’s eyes rather than my own.
And what I saw changed everything.
The One Who Had Always Been There
As I looked back over my life, I realized something that brought me to tears.
The One who had truly loved me all along was God.
Even during seasons when I did not fully recognize His presence, He had been there.
Even during moments when I felt alone, He had been there.
Even during my struggles, failures, disappointments, and pain, He had been there.
I began to see His faithfulness woven throughout every chapter of my life.
There were countless moments when God had protected me, guided me, provided for me, comforted me, and shown me His love, yet I had not fully recognized it at the time.
As He revealed these things to me, my heart was overwhelmed.
I was deeply moved by the realization that God had loved me far more faithfully than I had ever understood.
A Love Beyond Understanding
The more God revealed His love to me, the more my heart responded with love toward Him.
I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude.
I found myself worshiping Him from the depths of my heart.
I found myself amazed by His goodness, His patience, and His faithfulness.
What touched me most was realizing that God’s love had never been based on my performance, my achievements, or my worthiness.
He loved me because that is who He is.
His love remained constant even when I did not fully understand Him.
His love remained faithful even during my weakest moments.
His love continued to pursue me even when I could not clearly see His hand at work.
Through this revelation, I came to understand that the love I had been searching for throughout my life was not something I needed to find in the world.
It was something I had already been given by God.
And that realization changed everything.
Part 5: Responding to God’s Love
The Holy Spirit Reveals the Truth
Through this experience, I came to understand more clearly the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit reveals the works of the enemy, exposes deception, and helps us understand the truth of God. He opens our eyes to God’s love, His faithfulness, and His purposes.
Without the Holy Spirit, many spiritual truths would remain hidden from us. But when He reveals them, our understanding grows, and our relationship with God deepens.
I also learned that the Holy Spirit teaches us how to worship God. He places words within our hearts that help us express our love, gratitude, and devotion to Him.
The more God revealed His goodness to me, the more my heart desired to worship Him.
A Love Letter Written From the Heart
As God showed me His love and reminded me of everything He had done throughout my life, my heart became filled with gratitude.
I wanted to express my love and thanksgiving to Him in a meaningful way.
Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, words began to flow from my heart. Those words eventually became a written expression of my worship and gratitude to God.
One of the ways I responded to His love was by writing a personal letter of worship and thanksgiving to Him.
That letter later became the article I shared on my blog titled:
Through that letter, I expressed my gratitude for His faithfulness, His mercy, His patience, and His unfailing love.
Writing it became one of the ways I worshiped God through the gift He had given me—the ability to write.
Looking Back on God’s Faithfulness
Looking back, I can clearly see God’s faithfulness throughout every season of my life.
Even when I was deceived, struggling, and unable to understand what was happening, He never abandoned me.
He saw my heart.
He heard my prayers.
He collected every tear.
And in His perfect timing, He rescued me.
Throughout every trial, every hardship, and every season of confusion, God remained faithful to His promises.
His hand was always at work, even when I could not see it.
The Greatest Revelation
Through this experience, God opened my eyes to His love in a way I had never understood before.
He showed me that the love I had been searching for all my life could only be found in Him.
The more He revealed His love to me, the more my heart was filled with gratitude, worship, and love for Him.
What began as a painful season became an opportunity for God to reveal His goodness, His mercy, and His faithfulness.
He used even the difficult parts of my journey to draw me closer to Himself.
God Is Faithful
Today, I can confidently say that God is faithful to His promises.
He is full of mercy, grace, compassion, and unfailing love.
No matter what we face, God sees our hearts.
He knows our struggles.
He hears our prayers.
And He is able to rescue us according to His perfect will and timing.
Nothing is impossible for Him.
This testimony is a reminder that God’s love is real, His promises are trustworthy, and His faithfulness never fails.
No matter how dark a season may seem, God is still at work.
He is still revealing His love.
He is still drawing people to Himself.
And He is still transforming lives for His glory.
Conclusion
When God revealed to me how much He loved me, everything changed.
He showed me His faithfulness throughout my life.
He exposed the enemy’s deception.
He rescued me from a struggle that I could not overcome on my own.
Most importantly, He revealed that the love I had been searching for all along had been with me from the very beginning.
That love was His.
And because of that revelation, my heart will forever belong to Him.
To God be all the glory.
